We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us in any way. There have been many.

Stage IV Cancer?!?!

Yes, we have that. We also have 4 kids. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ, laughter, all of you, and life as 'usual' around here. Join us as often as you'd like. There's no promise this will ever be a blog with all the 'bells and whistles'. Life around here 'is what it is'.

We're Grateful...

for the gospel.

for Eternal families.

for the support of family/friends.

Layne has a job.

we have health insurance.

our kids are healthy.

we homeschool.

the surgeon took out all of the visible masses.

we're at Huntsman.

for many tender mercies.

for each other.

9/13/15 Update:

I'm leaving the original thoughts.

The differences?

Layne no longer has employment.

We have insurance...but, there have been glitches along the way.

Hospice is the current option (instead of Huntsman).

Take Kids to Disneyland

(I'll have to finish the rest later...it's a bummer to be old and realize you haven't written something down.)

I was going to update this and then realized that if I do, 'some people' might feel the need to do something about it. So, I'll leave it 'as is' for now. If I could get a promise from everyone to read the list just for interest sake...I might post more.

Timeline

2012

March 21 - ER Visit (Heart?)

April - G.I. Dr. (Scan)

April 30 - Colonoscopy (Cancer?)

June 1 - Surgery (Remove Section of Colon)

(Tumors found on abdominal wall and by stomach)

(Results back...Stage IV)

June - Meet with Oncologist

July 27 - First Chemo Treatment

Oct 25 - More masses found on scan

Nov - MD Anderson, Masses have grown

Different Chemo introduced

2013

Feb - MD Anderson Visit (Review for HIPEC)

April 25 - Results from MD Anderson (More growth, no HIPEC)

May 2 - Chemo no longer an option/Clinical Trials?

May 22 - Start Clinical Trial

Aug 13 - Scan Results (No Growth)

Oct 9 - Scan Results (No Growth)

Dec 11 - Scan Results (No Growth)

2014

Mar 4 - Scan Results (Minimal Growth in One Tumor/New Clinical Trial?)

Apr 22 - Scan

Apr 25 - Scan Results (Growth/New Clinical Trial)

Fall - Started 2nd Clinical Trial (Based at MD Anderson)

(Tests/Infusion twice a month in Houston)

Tumors smaller on first of the scans/same on all others. (Scans every three months.)

Nov - First time able to do second monthly infusion at Huntsman (in SLC)

2015

Continuing with Trial through May 1

May 11-13 - Acute Care Clinic, Stent Placed

Jun 17 - Clinical Trial #3

Aug 3 - Acute Care Clinic

Aug 11 - Finish Clinical Trial

Put on Hospice

Sep 20 - 44th Birthday

Sep 22 - Passed Away (@4:pm)

Sep 27 - Evening Viewing

Sep 28 - Viewing/Funeral/Graveside Service
